Innovative teaching techniques

The resolution of modern medical imaging techniques such as MRI, CT scan or ultra-sonography is steadily increasing. Nowadays, details can be seen that were hard to imagine 20 years ago - and the end is not in sight. This demands more and more knowledge of anatomical details and understanding of three-dimensional structures - both of which have to be learned. According to our experience, there are two organs which cause the most difficulties for the students: heart and brain. Financed by study fees, two free online practice programs are developed to introduce students to modern cross section anatomy. The first chapters of the brain program (NEUROknack) are online, and will be continuously extended. The program dealing with the heart (CARDIOknack) is in preparation.
